Talon Pritchard’s journey to UNA started with his passion for athletics. Growing up in Helena, Alabama, he played a variety of sports, but it was cross-country running that ultimately brought him to the University of North Alabama. Recruited by several schools during his junior and senior years of high school, Talon visited UNA and quickly realized it was the right fit for him.

What stood out to Talon wasn’t just the athletics program but also the warm and welcoming community in Florence. From his first visit, he felt at home at UNA, knowing it was a place where he could grow as both an athlete and a student. The business school’s reputation, especially the accreditation of UNA’s College of Business, played a significant role in his decision as well.

Talon eventually found his passion in the Steele Sales Center for Professional Selling. This program allowed him to compete in national sales competitions and opened the door to valuable internships, including one in Atlanta with a software company. The hands-on experiences and personal relationships with professors helped Talon feel confident in his ability to navigate the business world.

As a student-athlete, Talon faced the challenges of balancing early-morning workouts, academics, and his involvement in extracurricular activities. But his time at UNA has been rewarding, offering him the opportunity to excel in both athletics and academics. The small class sizes, supportive professors, and friendly atmosphere have made his experience in the College of Business enjoyable and fulfilling.

Talon’s future plans include a career in software or pharmaceutical sales, fields he’s passionate about. His time at UNA has equipped him with the skills and confidence to pursue his goals, and he’s excited to take the next steps. Reflecting on his experience, Talon encourages future students to get involved, make the most of their college years, and choose a place like UNA, where they’ll be supported and prepared for success.
