For Florence native Karlee Liverett, the choice to attend the University of North Alabama was more than just location. Drawn by UNA’s quality education, affordable tuition, and small student-to-faculty ratios, Karlee knew she’d found the perfect fit for her higher education journey.

Karlee’s time in the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions’ Respiratory Care program has proven foundational for her goals. Pointing to involved professors and hands-on experiences at five different clinical sites so far, she feels fully prepared for the career she envisions. Her ultimate goal? She wants to work at Huntsville Hospital, where she can use her skills to help patients breathe easier and live healthier lives.

While the classroom and clinical opportunities have been invaluable, she says the lifelong friendships she’s built are her favorite part of life at UNA. “There have been many great experiences so far at North Alabama,” she shares, “but my favorite would have to be meeting my lifelong friends.”

Reflecting on her journey so far, Karlee says that choosing UNA was one of the best decisions she has ever made: “UNA is home to me, and it was the best decision I ever made.”

Karlee is a shining example of how UNA empowers students to achieve their dreams while building lasting connections. Her advice for students considering their next step is clear—choose UNA, where you’ll find more than an education; you’ll find a home.
